Production
Made from a blend of three grape varieties (Ploussard, Chardonnay, Savagnin), the best bunches are dried for several months in the open air. Historically, the grapes were left to dry on a bed of straw, hence the wine's name. After pressing, the wine was aged in oak barrels for 3 years. Because of the drying process, the yields are a miniscule 17 litres of Straw Wine per 100kg of grapes.
