Lacourte-Godbillon

The philosophy at Lacourte Godbillon is simple: the wine must be an expression of its terroir.

It's this mindset that drives everything at this family-owned, grower Champagne estate. Current winemaker and owner Geraldine Lacourte, alongside husband Richard Desvignes and a team of just three others, strive to deliver the utmost care and attention to this exceptional terroir. True growers in every sense, they own all 8ha of their vineyards, and are committed to converting the entirety of their land to organic principles - with some biodynamic practices thrown in for good measure.

Their work doesn't stop there, though. Throughout their vineyards, care is taken to aerate the vines through canopy reduction and debudding in spring. It's a crucial stage for the team in maintaining both their organic status, and the quality of their grapes. In the cellar, the bottles age for anything from 30 months to seven years before disgorgement, in order to nurture each wine's unique character.

A zero dosage Champagne that spent five years on its lees. A perfect balance between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, the nose has intense flavours of candied orange and verbena. Powerful, yet elegant, it has notes of citrus, lime and grapefruit.
